Information Product Creation 101 – 3 Steps To Creating A Top Selling Information Product

Step 1 – Research And Find A Hot Topic

You can’t do anything until you find a hot topic to create your information product about. Two great places to do research and find out what’s out are Amazon and Clickbank. Find out which books and information products are currently hot sellers. This will give you an idea of what niche you should go into. These top sellers are the products that are your competition so to speak.

You want to create a product that is better then the top sellers. You might need to purchase a copy of the two best selling books and e-books. Read over them and see what all they have covered. Your objective is to find out what’s missing from those products so you can improve upon them. By covering what’s missing you can ensure your product is better then there’s.

Step 2 – Draw Up An Outline And Create The Product

Before you start typing up your product it is a good idea to create an outline. The outline should have each topic you will cover in your information product. The chapters and the information that will be in those chapters. By creating an outline you will make it a lot easier to put the product together.

In your outline you should try to write out at least 3 sub topics you can cover in each chapter. Once you have the outline completed you can just go down the list and fill in the information. By the time you get to the end of the outline you should have a top selling information product on your hands.

Step 3 – Start Marketing The Product

Once you have your information product complete its time to start marketing the product. The first step in marketing your product is setting up a salespage. The salespage is what will sell the product to your potential customers. Make sure your salespage is professionally written. The words on your salespage are what will either push potential customers towards a purchase or push them away.

When you are marketing your new information product make sure you are aggressive. If you will be using article marketing make it a point to write hundreds of articles. If you will be doing video marketing create hundreds of videos. When it boils down to it, the more links you have pointing to your site the more sells you will be able to make. You can’t go into thinking that just because you build it they will come. It never works that way. It is your responsibility to create buzz and interest in your product.

If you follow these 3 steps you will have your own information product created and making money for you in no time at all. Just know that it will take a lot of work to make it happen. But if you put in the time and effort you will reap the rewards.

Information Products That Are Very Easy To Create

Information products are easy to create. They some of the best kind of products that you can sell on the internet, and it’s something that you will want to get into if you want to make a good bit of money online. This is something that you can get started with without a wholesaler, dropshipper, inventory, or even a reseller’s license.

Nope, you can create your own information products all by yourself, and start profiting big time from it. Now if you don’t know how to create an information product and don’t know where to start, today’s lesson is for you. In this lesson, you will discover 2 quick and easy information products that you can create over a weekend – and sell for a high price online.

And if you’re still “fuzzy” about what an “information product” is, then you should know that it’s simply products that deliver information. They come in various formats, and I want to share with you 2 of these formats that are VERY cheap to reproduce, and very lucrative to start making money with. Here’s the first kind of information product that you can create:

1) Reports

Short reports are typically 20-30 pages long. They are the kind of introductory reports that sell for a relatively low price, and can build up your buyer’s list really quickly. The more of these you sell, the more quick customers you will get, and the more you can market to them with your backend products.

Backend sales will account for 80% of your total business profits. Generally if you sell a low priced item on the frontend, you will want to increase the price of your backend product – so that you can make more profits.

Once someone buys from you for the first time, it’s going to be less of a barrier to buy from you again. So reports are a great way to get customers fast, and are a great way to explode your backend sales. Here’s another information product you can sell:

2) Interviews

After recording your interview with a credible figure in your niche, you will want to determine whether or not you will want to promote it as a CD or DVD. I guess if you’re filming the interview also, you will want to create a DVD product from it also. Or you can simply do both, and sell the transcript of the interview as a bonus item.

Interviews are easy to conduct. You can use Skype, Powergramo, or just simply a regular camcorder to record your interview. It will probably be in your best interest to find someone to interview face-to-face. This is something that your niche will appreciate, and this can only boost your credibility if they see you on camera with a guru in your niche.

No matter which information product you go with, you can’t lose without any one of them. Information products such these types can be very profitable and lucrative, and with a good marketing strategy, you can earn a good income by selling them repeatedly.

Good luck with selling your information product online today.

Do You Know Enough To Create Your Own Information Product?

If you have an online business and you are not creating your own products then you are basically leaving money on the table. Having your own products that you have created yourself really can build your credibility online as well as increase your overall revenue.

However, one of the things that can hold people back is a lack of confidence and thinking that you don’t actually know enough in order to create a product in the first place.

So in this article I am going to show you how you can find out if you have enough information, if you know enough about your particular niche and therefore give you the confidence that you need to begin creating your own products.

In addition, if you find that you are lacking in knowledge then I shall show you how you can gain the expertise you need to then create your own products.

Do you have enough knowledge?

I suggest that you visit your local library or bookshop and you have a look at a least five books that have been written about your particular niche. These should be information books, so books that are telling you information about particular topics in your niche.

Having read through these books see what you actually know yourself.

  • As you read through the book are you able to understand what is being said?
  • Are there more up-to-date bits of information that you know should be added but is missing from the book?
  • Do you agree with what’s being said or do you feel that you could improve on that information in any way?

As you read through the book see if you can identify with the information and if you can then are you able to come up with even better information? If so, then you know you have the knowledge to create your own information products. In fact you might find out the you know more than some of the authors of the books you have just read! This is certainly something that happened to me and gave me the confidence to start creating my own information products a while back.

What if you don’t have enough knowledge

If you read the books about topics in your niche and you begin to feel uncomfortable and you’re reading it thinking I don’t actually know that or there are some parts that you don’t understand then these are the particular topics that you are lacking in knowledge about.

These are the things that you need to go away and research about and actually learn it yourself. Ideally you will put those things into practice so that you then have your own experience to share when you create your own information products about those particular topics.

2 Strategies For Selling Information Products Successfully

Don’t you just love selling information products? Well, you probably do if you’re making a nice living from it. But if you aren’t making a lot of money, then you will probably have to revamp your marketing plan to make it profitable for you. Most of the people I know who hate selling information products aren’t making any kind of money. So if you hate information products, I’m confident that you probably feel the same way.

But there’s no reason to hate information products. The bottom line all boils down to effective marketing. If you can’t market and sell information products from your own website, more than likely you won’t be able to sell standard “tangible” items either. You can ever delude yourself that doing this will be easier than selling information.

Hopefully this makes sense to you. There are a lot of things that you can do to make your business a success, and I want to share with you some of these things with you today. They are all highly effective strategies, and I’m sure that if you implement them in your online business, you’ll be able to see results with your information products soon. Here’s the first tip:

1) Get some coaching

Coaching can either be paid, or you can find a mentor who will take you “under their wing” and show you how to make money. But generally, people who give free advice and information like this wind up frustrated because the recipient generally doesn’t act on the advice. So this is why 98% of the people who will mentor you will ask for some kind of payment. This is just so that you don’t waste their time.

So it’s important that you actually do some implementation on your behalf. This is important so that you can see results from your efforts, and so that your mentor can be proud of you. The more support you get, the better. This is something that you will definitely want to keep in mind. Here’s another tip for having success with information products:

2) Go into a niche

This is where most people get lost at. When people try to sell offline tangible items, they think that it will be different and people will flock to their business to buy things. People like this generally wind up spending most of their time at flea markets trying to sell products that nobody wants. The same principle could apply to you.

Don’t sell products no one wants. Do your market research homework and develop products around a need or want in the marketplace. This is the best way to go about doing things. Don’t create the product first… always do the niche homework first – and THEN create the product for the market. You’ll see almost immediate sales if you do this… especially if you’re operating in a niche that not a lot of people are in.

Information products are some of the best products to sell online, and you can earn a nice living from it if you market yourself correctly. Take the time to learn more about marketing online, and how it can make your information products profitable.
